One of the basic goals and assumptions of the project was to develop a comprehensive program of education preparing for work. We were looking for solutions that were effective and pedagogically useful on the one hand and compatible with the vastness of school bureaucracy on the other, starting from compliance with the Core Curriculum of general education to the possibility of coherent use for the purposes of conducting the Multi-specialist Assessment of the Student’s Functioning Level and developing Individual Educational and Therapeutic Programs. The main assumption was to slim down school documentation and increase its usefulness so that it could actually, and not just declaratively, constitute the basis for organizing didactic processes.
The layout and form of the proposed programs were discussed. Finally, after consultations with the PUP Sosnowiec and in cooperation with academic staff, a decision was made to create a set of curricula for selected professional areas/job positions.
We provide you with a set of 18 programs for a school preparing for work. The programs are tabular in nature and contain general and specific educational goals and learning outcomes for the student. In their intention, the effects of education are complementary to the functional diagnostic tools developed within the RPI2 framework for monitoring progress in achieving professional competences. This coherence allows them to be used in the development of WOPFU and then, in combination with programs, to define precise educational and therapeutic goals that will remain in the sphere of students’ proximal development by providing a chance to achieve real progress and educational success.
The leading methodology of work is the Efficiency Formative Assessment (SOK) and elements of the e-portfolio method. Simple introductory materials to the methods have also been developed and are available on the CAZ Sosnowiec platform.
Assessment of student achievements in accordance with the guidelines of education law is descriptive in nature and, in accordance with the SOK methodology, is a combination of Self-assessment performed by students with feedback provided by the teacher. Diagnosing and assessing those areas that are in the zone of students’ proximal development is crucial. This obvious rule is unfortunately often not fully implemented in pedagogical practice. We often focus on greater developmental difficulties, even though they are not in the sphere of proximal development, seeing them as the greatest barriers to independence or further development of competences. Meanwhile, they are often not available to students without prior mastery of more basic competences, especially those in the sphere of proximal development.
The evaluation of the program was conducted based on their scientific review, as well as on the direct analysis of students’ achievements.
We sincerely encourage you to use, modify and adapt the developed programs to your own needs, conditions and possibilities.
